Free tiramisù. In Barcelona. This Saturday!
Demartini Tiramisù is opening its new store in Eixample on Saturday, October 24 at 5:00 PM, and they're celebrating by giving tiramisù away. Not cups pulled from a fridge either. They make it fresh, right in front of you, and you pick the flavour.
If you've been around El Born lately, you might already know the name.

Who is Demartini?
Demartini is an Italian-run tiramisù shop that opened on Carrer dels Carders 44, in El Born, in summer 2025. It's run by Daniele Demartini, and the recipe is a family one. He told betevé it's "very exact" and took a lot of testing to get right.
It caught on fast. By March 2026 the Born shop was selling over 2,000 tiramisù a week, according to Barcelona Secreta. That same month they made a 3-metre tiramisù for International Tiramisù Day and gave away around 500 portions for free.
So yes, they've done the free tiramisù thing before. Now they're doing it again, bigger.
Why people keep coming back
It's the cream. Demartini mixes mascarpone from a small Italian producer with a pâte à bombe made from organic pasteurised egg yolks, plus Italian meringue. What you get is pale, light and almost fluffy. One Barcelona Secreta writer said you'd want to bathe in it. Fair.
The coffee is brewed in a moka pot. The savoiardi come from Italy. And there's less sponge than in most versions, so every spoonful is mostly cream. Time Out's reviewer noticed the same thing and called it really delicious.
Pick your flavour

At the opening you choose your favourite. Here's what Demartini has been known for:
Classic. Savoiardi, coffee, mascarpone cream and cocoa. The one to judge them by.
Pistachio. Pistachio paste and chopped Sicilian pistachios on top.
Nocciola. Made with hazelnuts from Piedmont. Rich and nutty.
Strawberry. Fresh and candied strawberries with yuzu cream. It's seasonal, so grab it while it's around.
Yuzu. Bright and citrusy. The wild card.
They've done salted caramel too. Flavours rotate, so Saturday's counter might look a little different. Not a bad problem to have.
See the lab
This is the part I'd go for. Demartini says it runs Europe's largest artisanal tiramisù production lab, and the opening is your chance to see it up close. Long steel tables lined with hundreds of cups. Big bowls of pistachio and hazelnut. Cream folded by hand.

Watching the kitchen has always been part of the deal here. Even the small Born shop has an open workshop you can see from the counter. Time Out said seeing it inspires trust. Agreed.
